The Next Stage of Our Lives!

   Posted by: Nate Tags: , , , , , ,

So this is more of a personal info post, just wanted to keep everyone up on what was going on in my and my wife’s life.

First, we have some great news! My wife is expecting and we are looking forward our first child. He is a boy, Jackson Carter Kinsey.

Second, we are moving the end of this week to Estill Springs Tennessee. I will be filling the position of Youth Pastor and working with a great group of teens. We will be at Faith Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Randy Jackson.

I am my last class for my Master of Divinity, which is extremely exciting! Graduation is this Thursday, and we leave Friday morning for Tennessee.

So this is just a brief post, and update! I hope to be posting semi-regularly in the near future.

Eph 4:3 “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

It is not uncommon for there to be “disagreements”, “grudges”, and even out right “fights” among fellow Christians in churches. This is something that is addressed in multiple New Testament books. These can programs and break the unity of Christian fellowship. Broken unity leads to a less effective ministry

This is just a quick thought. “What are you doing to keep the unity?” We no there are problems, are we contributing to them, or are you “Endeavouring” to put out the fires? Are you “Endeavouring” to keep Christians unified or are you breaking them apart?

What are you doing to keep the unity?

I recently heard a preacher go off on the doom of America. I understand that things don’t look the greatest and that we are slipping in many ways, yet the way that he went on was disgraceful.

This man had given up all hope in America except for a definite divine intervening miracle by God. He went on to list all the ways that America was falling, and even through in a pop shot at a politician. The basic theme of his message was, America is going to fall, get ready and here is how to live in that world.

Now I am not trying to say that America isn’t that bad, I know that there are lots of problems and sin is rampant. What bugs me is the attitude take towards it, it was one of “it’s going to happen so let get ready to deal with it.” I think a better attitude would be one of “America’s got problem, I’m a Christian and I know the solution.” Now we might not be able to turn America around, but I’d rather lose the battle trying to save it, than to give up without even trying.

Don’t give up hope for America! We need to be praying for America, that includes: ourselves, our churches, our fellow citizens, the unsaved, the leaders, and all that have ties to America! God can work through us and in spite of us. Don’t stop living for God and evangelizing America until God calls you home!

School SuppliesWell, I along with many other students are gearing up for another year of school, or have already started it. Many K-12th schools have been underway for a few weeks now, while most colleges and universities have just recently started, or are about to start. I attend Pensacola Theological Seminary and am beginning my last year of classes. This will be my seventh year of “higher education” and I am looking forward to being done studying for awhile (although the idea of a doctoral degree still lingers in the back of my mind). On the thought of school, two verses came to mind that should encourage every Christian student, as well as Christians in general.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Often times I hear of students who quit their studies only part way through the year. When things get overwhelming we must remember that if we have been seeking God’s will and he has lead us to where we are, then that is where he intended us to be! “Be not weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” Do not look for a reason to quit when everything seems tough, but rather look to the reason that you headed to where you are now. If you were following God and he lead you to where you are, do not think that he will lead you away, but rather that he will lead you through what he has for you.

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. We often know that we cannot quit what we have started, yet we cannot see how we are going to make it through either. We must remember that as Christians we do not have to rely on our own strength to make it. I say “we do not HAVE to” because it is a choice that every person must make. You can choose to try and make it on your own strength, and you may or may not make it, if you do it is only by the grace of God. Rather than try to make it on your own strength and not be sure what will happen until it is over, you can chose to allow God’s strength to be what caries you through. If you are leaning on Him, there may be times that seem hard, but you need not worry, because you are leaning on the everlasting arms!

I hope this encourages some students, as well as other Christians. Remember that if you are following God He will direct you to where he wants you, and that whatever He has for you can be completed through His strength
